Zhezkazgan Airport serves the central Kazakh mining city of Zhezkazgan, about 12 km from the centre. Service is primarily domestic, with SCAT and Qazaq Air linking to Almaty and Astana. The airport supports the local copper-mining industry and Soyuz spacecraft recovery operations on the steppe nearby. International scheduled flights are rare.
