Transcarpathia's small airport on the Slovak border
Uzhhorod International Airport sits about 2 km south of Uzhhorod in the Zakarpattia (Transcarpathia) region of westernmost Ukraine, with its runway crossing the border with Slovakia. The airport is small, with limited scheduled traffic — historically operated by Ukraine International Airlines on the Kyiv route. Cross-border arrivals required special procedures because of the runway alignment. Operations have been suspended since the 2022 Ukrainian airspace closure.
Major carriers: Ukraine International Airlines.
