Sucre's modern replacement airport in the Bolivian highlands
Alcantari International opened in 2016 as the replacement for the older Juana Azurduy de Padilla airport, sitting about 30 km southeast of central Sucre at 3,114 m elevation. It serves Bolivia's constitutional capital with mostly domestic flights to La Paz and Santa Cruz, operated by Boliviana de Aviacion. International scheduled service is currently limited.
