Tokyo's furthest budget alternative, mainly LCCs
Ibaraki Airport is a small civil-military airfield in Omitama, about 80 km northeast of Tokyo. It was developed primarily as a low-cost alternative to Narita and Haneda, with Skymark anchoring domestic flights to Sapporo, Kobe, Fukuoka and Naha. International service is thin and seasonal, including Spring Airlines flights to Shanghai when schedules permit.
Major carriers: Skymark Airlines. Low-cost carriers: Spring Airlines.
