Hualien Airport serves Taiwan's east coast city of Hualien and the Taroko Gorge area, sharing its runway with Chiashan Air Force Base. The civilian terminal is small, primarily handling domestic flights from Taipei Songshan and the offshore islands. Mandarin Airlines and UNI Air are the regular operators, with limited seasonal international charter activity to Hong Kong and parts of mainland China.
