New Chitose is Hokkaido's primary airport, located about 50 km southeast of central Sapporo near the town of Chitose. It is one of Japan's busiest airports by passenger volume, with JAL and ANA dominating the Tokyo trunk routes and a strong roster of LCCs including Peach, Jetstar Japan and AirDo. International service spans Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Bangkok and several mainland China cities.
