Syamsudin Noor International Airport is located in Banjarbaru, about 25 km southeast of Banjarmasin, the capital of South Kalimantan. It is the main gateway to the province and Borneo's southern coast. Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Citilink, Batik Air and Super Air Jet run frequent flights to Jakarta (CGK), Surabaya (SUB) and Makassar (UPG), with the new terminal opened in 2019.
