Xining Caojiabao International Airport serves the Qinghai capital from Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, about 28 km east of central Xining. It is the main airport on the eastern Tibetan Plateau and is served by China Eastern, Air China, China Southern and Spring Airlines, plus Tibet Airlines. Routes are mostly domestic, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Lhasa and Lanzhou, with seasonal flights to Bangkok and Hong Kong.
