Shandong's coastal gateway from the new Jiaodong field
Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport opened in August 2021 as the replacement for the older Liuting field, around 39 km northwest of central Qingdao in Jiaozhou. Designed in a starfish layout it serves Shandong's main port city and beach destination. Shandong Airlines, China Eastern and Air China run the largest operations, with flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo and Frankfurt.
