Sphinx International sits about 45 km west of central Cairo near the Giza pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum. It is the secondary airport for Greater Cairo and was developed to relieve pressure on Cairo International. EgyptAir, Air Cairo and Nile Air operate the bulk of services, with selected European and Gulf carriers running scheduled and charter flights. Traffic levels remain modest but are growing.
