Yemen's highland capital airport, intermittently open
Sanaa International Airport sits about 13 km north of central Sanaa at over 2,200 m elevation, making it one of the highest international airports in the Arabian Peninsula. It was Yemen's main civil airport before the conflict; commercial flights have been highly restricted since 2016, with limited Yemenia service to Amman and Cairo when permitted. Operations remain dependent on UN and coalition coordination.
Major carriers: Yemenia.
