Himalayan valley airport, only a handful of pilots can land here
Paro International is Bhutan's only international airport, sitting at 2,235 m in a steep Himalayan valley about 6 km from central Paro and 54 km west of the capital Thimphu. Surrounded by 5,000 m peaks, only a small number of certified pilots fly the steep visual approach. Drukair and Bhutan Airlines are the two operators, with thin scheduled links to Delhi, Kathmandu, Bangkok, Kolkata and Singapore.
Major carriers: Drukair, Bhutan Airlines.
