Kuzbass airport named for spacewalk pioneer Leonov
Kemerovo Airport serves the capital of the Kemerovo Oblast (Kuzbass) coal region in southwestern Siberia. The airport sits about 9 km southeast of the city and is named after cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, who hailed from the area. Traffic is mostly domestic, with regular flights to Moscow and other Russian cities operated by S7, Aeroflot, NordStar and Red Wings.
