Jiayuguan International Airport lies about 13 km east of Jiayuguan city in western Gansu province, near the western terminus of the Ming-era Great Wall. The small airport handles modest domestic traffic, primarily flights operated by China Eastern, Tianjin Airlines, and Hainan Airlines linking Jiayuguan to Lanzhou, Xi'an, and Beijing. The airport also handles seasonal tourist traffic for nearby Silk Road heritage sites.
