Zhoushan Putuoshan International Airport occupies Zhujiajian Island, about 22 km southeast of Zhoushan city in Zhejiang province. The airport serves the Zhoushan archipelago and pilgrims heading to Mount Putuo, one of China's four sacred Buddhist mountains. China Eastern, Juneyao Airlines, and Shanghai Airlines link HSN to Beijing, Guangzhou, Xiamen, and Chengdu. Most travellers from Shanghai use buses via the cross-sea bridge instead.
