Hat Yai International is around 9 km west of Hat Yai town in Songkhla province, the busiest commercial centre in southern Thailand. The airport is mostly domestic with Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air, Nok Air and Thai Vietjet flying to Bangkok. AirAsia and a few regional carriers run cross-border service to Kuala Lumpur and occasionally Singapore.
