North Kivu gateway beside Lake Kivu and the volcanoes
Goma International sits on the northern shore of Lake Kivu in eastern DR Congo, about 5 km from the city center and right next to the Rwandan border. Its single runway is partly built over the 2002 Nyiragongo lava flow. Domestic carriers like Congo Airways, CAA and Mwant Jet link it to Kinshasa, Lubumbashi and Kisangani, with onward Rwanda links via nearby Gisenyi.
Major carriers: Congo Airways, CAA, Mwant Jet, Ethiopian Airlines.
