Syria's main airport, slowly rebuilding its international network
Damascus International is roughly 25 km southeast of the city and remains Syria's principal airport. Operations were severely affected during the conflict and sanctions still constrain available carriers. SyrianAir and Cham Wings dominate scheduled service, with selected routes from Iraqi Airways and a handful of regional operators. Network coverage focuses on the Gulf, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt and a few European cities.
Major carriers: SyrianAir, Cham Wings Airlines, Iraqi Airways.
