Amman's older downtown airfield, kept for regional and military use
Marka, also called Amman Civil Airport, sits roughly 5 km northeast of central Amman and predates Queen Alia. Today it mainly handles royal, military, training and charter flights, with limited scheduled commercial traffic. Most international travellers to Amman fly into AMM instead, but ADJ retains its IATA code for charters and the occasional regional turboprop service.
Major carriers: Royal Jordanian, Jordan Aviation.
